On July 28, 2006, Mel Gibson was arrested in California for speeding and on suspicion of drunk driving. According to a leaked police report, he was abusive to the arresting officers and remarked "...Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world", asking one of them, “Are you a Jew?” He later issued, through his publicist, two apologies for the incident.
