Even the otherworldly Bowie couldn’t escape the strict drug laws of upstate New York in the 70s.
The Arrest (1976): After a concert in Rochester, NY, police raided his hotel suite and arrested Bowie along with Iggy Pop.
The Stash: They were charged with felony possession of marijuana (about 6 ounces). Bowie spent a few hours in jail before posting bail.
The Mugshot: He pleaded not guilty and the charges were eventually dismissed, but the arrest gave us perhaps the most stylish mugshot ever taken.
